It takes either a huge amount of boredom or a huge amount of excitement to get me to turn to posting on Xanga.  Today's post has been motivated by the former.  I'm still at work, it's 7:50, a time at which all normal people are at home, hanging out with friends and family.  I'm in an office at a computer snacking on brocolli and rice (my dinner) and wishing 8:30 would come.  Now don't get me wrong, I have plenty of work to do... unlike Frank, my dad, and apparently many people in the corporate world, I actually have work to do at work - all the time.  I spend most of my time planning this big (well, hopefully big) fundraising event - a benefit art auction and concert August 16th at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts.  If you or anyone you know wants to buy art, let me know and tell them to come.  hahaha now everyone in the greater pittsburgh area is going to FLOCK to my event - i posted it on my Xanga!  right.  Anyway, that's what I'm up to.  If you wanna hang out after 9 on weeknights or any time sat/sun., lemme know... i haven't seen many people this summer, and its more than halfway through already.  Wow, is that true?  more than halfway?  guess so... craziness.  Can't wait to go back to school, that's gonna be awesome.  Still enjoying being home though.  Work is good, if crazy at times.  Trip to Belize with the fam July 20-30, coming right around the corner... should be a lot of fun.  Alright, guess i'll do a bit of work before i leave.

P.S.  If you are wondering why my Xanga keeps switching crazy colors and patterns, it is NOT because I have that much time on my hands.  Its because my sister does, and she has deemed herself my official Xanga decorator. Just fyi.

Ok, so i know this is out of control, but two posts in one day.  Actually, 3 posts in 2 days... i'm so on top of things/have a lot going on in my head/have lots of free time all the sudden.  All of the above I guess.  I was just going out for a walk a few hours ago, and decided to stop by at Jamie Tiano's.  The lights were on in her house so i didn't feel bad coming so late, and i'm so glad i knocked on the door.  She was there with Jacob Graham... I hadn't seen either of them since last summer.  We had a really, really nice catching up/reflecting on freshman year conversation and it made me happy   I had an especially great heart to heart with Jamie... which was so cool because i hadn't hung out with her nearly as much as I wanted to in high school, and I'm glad we can still be close even though we haven't seen each other much at all.  It was so warm and fuzzy to have a great talk with one of my childhood best friends.... also made it really sad to talk/think about moving.... being able to just walk down the street and see her and my other friends who I grew up with is so nice... even if i don't do it much/enough.  I need to make a point of doing that before we move.  Anyway, now i'm actually going to bed.  Good night

your overly verbose friend,
Lauren

Wow, I'm home!  Absolute craziness.  I had a really great day here... which is a good sign.  I'm really going to try to make the most of this summer... I'm going to be as positive as possible and have a lot of fun.  Please call me if you want to hang out, I'm going to be around all summer, aside from a few weeks here and there.  I really want to see everyone possible... i've missed hanging out with a lot of people while home for short breaks, but now there is no excuse... i've got 3+ months.  I went to the school today to talk to magistra about convention... I'm really psyched... there are going to be SO many chaperones, we're gonna have so much fun.  So at school i talked to a bunch of teachers - Lattanzio (for quite a while actually), Carsone, Whelan, etc.  Also went to Wallace's AP History picnic (i know, i'm a dork... what a highschoolish day) cuz Bobie invited me to come.. nice to see Wallace and hang out with Bobie.  Hung out with my sister today for a while too, that was nice.  I really think things are going well for her now, I'm so happy for her.  It'll be nice to spend time with her this summer.  I think the move is going to be really good for her too.  OH, and I saw Heather at Panera today and met her boyfriend... that was super exciting!  It was so good to see her, i'm looking forward to hanging out with her soon.  I talked to my best friend at school, Ben, tonight and it was really refreshing to talk to him.  I'm going to miss him and everyone else at school soo much, but i'm looking forward to keeping in touch with them all really regularly over the summer, which will keep me super happy.  I haven't even seen frank yet and its been a great day... this is a good sign.  I think i'm gonna take a walk, cuz it is beauuuutiful out, and I love my neighborhood... i'm gonna miss it   Well, call me if you wanna hang - 412-609-1164.

With love and optimism,
Lauren

Coming home today after packing... holy shit.  This is nuts.  I am going to miss being at school so, so much... my friends are just awesome, I can't believe I won't see them for another 3 months.  I wish pittsburgh wasn't so far away from EVERYTHING.  Why do we have to be that the worst possible corner of pennsylvania?  If i were just on the other side of the state things would be so much better.  I never realized how far we are from the east coast really... we're practically mid-westerners... weird.

Oh well, this summer should be fun.  Spending time with Frank will be awesome.  Helping my family move won't be... but the place should be nice and it will be mildly exciting.  I'm going to Charleston, SC to visit one of my best friends there in a few weeks... its gonna be swwweeeeet!  She lives on an island, how cool is that?  Also going to Belize with my family, hopefully going to philly/nyc for a weekend to visit some more friends, working at an organization called ACORN doing social justice campaigns.. if it isn't fun at least i should learn a lot.  Yeah, this summer will be awesome.
